The Road to Awakening Can Take Some Very Surprising Turns

This publication has always worked to cover ancient mysteries, unexplained anomalies, and future science by reporting on the work of cutting-edge researchers. Over the years we have seen public interest growing in those areas, and certainly this issue’s DVD selection underscores the point.

History Channel

Ancient Aliens is the hit series from The History Channel that explores the intriguing, oft-controversial, Alien Astronaut theory that points to evidence that ancient extraterrestrial visitors to Earth had a profound impact on human development, along with being responsible for many of Earth’s unexplained phenomena.

Though this set includes all 15 episodes from Season 9, our primary interest for this review is the first episode, “Pyramids of Antarctica,” as AR has covered this topic in previous issues (“Atlantis in Antarctica” #7; “Lake Vostok’s Secret Life” #102, and other segments in various issues). Some of the featured presenters are well known to AR readers, as they have contributed articles to our publication, and/or we’ve carried their books/DVDs in our catalog: David Hatcher Childress, William Henry, David Wilcock, Robert Bauval, Linda Moulton Howe, and Andrew Collins.

Most geologists believe that Antarctica has been completely frozen and uninhabited for over 12 million years. But in 2012, new photographs revealed formations in the landscape that challenge this notion—mysterious pyramid structures emerging from the now melting ice. These photographs revealed a number of what appear to be perfect, four-sided pyramids, very similar in design to those at Giza and other places around the world. While mainstream scientists have explained these away as nothing more than natural land formations, satellite imagery analysts are not entirely convinced.

The narrator points out that while it may seem unthinkable that pyramids could exist in Antarctica, archaeologists have in recent years found pyramids all over the world that had been lost for centuries, mistaken for natural formations or hidden in the most unlikely places. Andrew Collins queries: Since there is evidence of pyramid structures all over the world, shouldn’t we start looking at the possibility that there was habitation on Antarctica? Was it a lost civilization? Could it have been ancient astronauts? And—just maybe—might the earliest monuments of our own civilization have originally come from Antarctica? (There is a segment that investigates Egypt in regard to Antarctica.)

“If this gigantic pyramid in Antarctica is an artificial structure,” adds David Childress, “it would probably be the oldest pyramid on our planet; and, in fact, it might be the master pyramid for all the other pyramids on planet Earth.”

As for a theory as to why so many, and why all over the planet, Dr. Michael Salla (Exopolitics) adds that there has been extensive research done on pyramids around the world in terms of their structure and purpose. A popular theory is that pyramids are power generators. With pyramids strategically placed around the world generating a charge, they might create a general standing wave that is basically a wireless transmission of energy. Childress says that it’s been theorized that ancient ships, extraterrestrials, and those with high technology could use this interconnected wireless energy system to navigate around the planet.

So, could there have been a more temperate Antarctica in which a civilization could have existed? In 1958, Charles Hapgood, a Harvard-educated scientist, published the book, Earth’s Shifting Crust (the foreword was written by Albert Einstein), in which he proposed that portions of the Earth’s crust experienced violent and sudden shifts during Earth’s geological history. His theory, known as ‘crustal displacement’ posited that both Siberia and the continent of Antarctica were located in more temperate climates prior to the end of the Ice Age approximately 12,000 years ago. But, then, some unknown catastrophe plunged them into their current positions. He found support for his theory when in 1960, while combing through the Library of Congress archives, he unearthed an unusual map published in 1531. This map, credited to mathematician and cartographer Oronteus Finaeus, appeared to depict an ice-free continent remarkably similar to today’s maps of Antarctica. There’s a NASA radar image of the continent of Antarctica that shows the same mountain range shown on the Finaeus map!

Another item of special interest is noted: In October 2015, scientists at NASA announced that despite years of thinking otherwise, they are now finding that the ice in Eastern Antarctica is actually growing, averaging 82 billion tons a year. Snowfall is currently adding ice to most of the continent. But at the same time, glaciers are rapidly melting along the coast of Western Antarctica. Scientists calculate that, since 2009, as much as 60 cubic kilometers of ice, the equivalent of 70,000 Empire State Buildings, is disappearing into the ocean each year. “But,” asks the narrator, “why is the ice here melting, when it is growing throughout much of the rest of the continent?” And adds Collins: “We see these graphic pictures on television of the ice caps melting and falling into the sea. But it’s actually only in some areas that the ice caps are actually melting. What’s so strange is that, through various factors, the ice in Antarctica might actually be growing and extending—this is very strange.” David Wilcock states: “We can’t rule out the possibility that, in certain cases, there could be entire cities that are built underground, that may even be actively maintained by extraterrestrials now; and as those cities are powered up or expanded in size, they are giving off some kind of heat, and that heat, in turn, is melting the ice above them.”

So, as William Henry points out, it’s possible that underneath the ice, there may be keys for us to reclaim our ancient past. After all, narrator Robert Clotworthy adds: “Since the dawn of civilization, mankind has credited its origins to gods and other visitors from the stars. What if it were true? Did extraterrestrial beings really help to shape our history? And if so, might the ultimate proof be found when we uncover the pyramids of Antarctica?”

(You might think there would be an index with 15 episodes on four discs, but there isn’t, so you have to actually insert a disc to ascertain its content.)

Whether you agree with this series’ main premise—that it all happened, or is happening, mainly because of ancient alien influence—or whether you are more inclined to believe in other teachings involving more spiritual and nonphysical influence, there is much here to sort and digest.

Nassim Haramein, whose DVDs have been reviewed in previous issues of AR (“Crossing the Event Horizon” and “The Black Whole”) has spent most of his life researching the fundamental geometry of hyperspace, studying a variety of fields from theoretical physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, and chemistry to anthropology and ancient civilizations. Combining this knowledge with keen observation of the behavior of nature, he discovered a specific geometric array that he found to be fundamental to creation, and the foundation for his Unified Field Theory emerged. In the past 20 years, he has directed research teams of physicists, electrical engineers, mathematicians, and other scientists. He has founded a nonprofit organization, the Resonance Project Foundation, where, as the Director of Research, he continues exploring unification principles and their implications in our world today. The foundation is actively developing a research park on the island of Hawaii where science, sustainability, and green technology come together.

David Wolfe is considered one of the world’s top authorities on natural health-and-beauty nutrition, herbalism, longevity, chocolate, and organic superfoods. David has over 15 years of dedicated experience and understanding of the inner workings, the delicate chemistry, and hardcore mechanics of the human body and how modern-day stressors affect the body.

Edward Griffin is a writer and documentary film producer with many successful titles to his credit. Listed in ‘Who’s Who in America,’ he is well known because of his talent for researching difficult topics and presenting them in clear terms that all can understand. He has dealt with such diverse subjects as archaeology and ancient Earth history, the Federal Reserve System, terrorism, internal subversion, the history of taxation, U.S. foreign policy, the science and politics of cancer therapy, the Supreme Court, and the United Nations.

Jacque Fresco has worked as both designer and inventor in a great variety of fields, ranging from biomedical innovations to totally integrated social systems. Mr. Fresco’s background includes industrial design, social engineering, Research Engineer, Technical Consultant to the Motion Picture Industry, and Industrial Design Instructor. The Venus Project is the culmination of Jacque Fresco’s life work: integrating the best of science and technology into a comprehensive plan for a new society based on human and environmental concerns. It is a global vision of hope for the future of humanity in our technological age.

New Zealand artist and cosmologist Jonathan Quintin‘s quest is to provide various modalities that help attune human consciousness to the harmony of universal order. He shows how the shapes, patterns, and forms of sacred geometry are harmonic keys that can help align mind-body-spirit in a state of higher consciousness. He demonstrates how sacred geometry is a bridge between the seen and unseen, the quantitative and qualitative, the finite and infinite. He shows how it is a universal language that describes the inner workings of nature and the intrinsic order of the universe; how it is the natural sanction that unites all forms of life: from microbes, plants, animals, and humans to the motions of the planets and stars.

Dr. Joe Marshalla’s work is simple to understand, yet truly amazing. It is a perfect synthesis of all the sciences, philosophies, psychologies, and spiritualities. He is noted for his discovery of “The Law of Repeatlessness,” and moreover, for his subsequent applications of that law in modern thought, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and quantum physics. Joe is inspired by the process of an ever-renewable life—one of new beginnings rather than the inevitable product of our past. With his doctoral degree in philosophy, he has spent his entire life as a student and teacher. He is now considered to be and is sought after as an expert in the biochemistry of psychology and perception, the neurology of spirituality, the biochemistry of nutrition and the synthesis of quantum physics and astrophysics into spirituality.

Paul Harrison (“The Ten Paradoxes”)

Here’s a documentary with talking heads and visuals to hammer home the point—pay attention! This film is intended to be an entertaining, secular, and educational look at the benefits of mindful practice. It brings together a group of leading neuroscientists, psychiatrists, authors, and others to decode mindfulness. First, they help to define what mindfulness is and how the concept of neuroplasticity plays into the practice. Then, they walk you through eight practical, foundational, mindful lessons—like managing stress and mindful eating. Finally, you’ll meet some heartwarming veterans and teens who are using mindfulness to overcome issues like PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and everyday life stresses. It is entertaining but goes far beyond that to explain an easier way to navigate life.

We start out with the question: What is MindLESSness? Ellen Langer, Ph.D., explains: “Mindlessness usually comes about by default. It’s not motivated; it just never occurred to you that this thing could be other things.” Joseph Ledoux, Ph.D., thinks that the mindless mode is what we’re on 90 percent of the time. And others point out that most of the time we eat and read or watch TV; we get in the car and arrive somewhere without remembering everything; and automatically light up a cigarette without being aware of the process. We aren’t really aware of the moment, because we’re anticipating the next thing. It’s sometimes described as “monkey mind.”

So, then, what is MindFULness? “The most common definition is,” says Kristen Neff, Ph.D., “paying attention to present moment experience.” And Fred Alan Wolf, Ph.D., states that mindfulness is your natural state of being. And others add: It’s also about just noticing what is happening every moment of the day. It’s paying attention to the actions that you are making. It’s a sustained quality of being present. It’s basic mind hygiene, a clear-minded observational perspective. The experience of mindfulness is tuning into reality as it is, as it unfolds right now. It’s just really the full experience of life, without getting lost in thought and becoming forgetful. Harrison summarizes: So mindfulness is paying attention to the moment with an open mind and a willingness to let go of old patterns and live in the present.

Then, we get into the Neuroscience of Mindfulness. Harrison advises that we don’t experience reality as it really is; we perceive it through a filter that allows us to see only what we’ve been conditioned to see. That’s because we become trapped in the neurobiology of our own brain. Every brain has a unique pattern of neurons and connections that are both genetic and learned over time. So, each and every one of us is wired differently. And here you get more in-depth information of how our brains work.

Interspersed throughout is the couple that wears T-shirts that show “Mindful” (woman) and “Mindless” (man) and interact in an attempt to demonstrate what mindfulness is. Yes, a stereotype that might offend some, as the woman calls out the man over and over again for not paying attention. You’ll have to decide for yourself if they’re mostly annoying or a good teaching aid.

There’s probably something to be gained by most from watching this documentary. Maybe the next time a driver flips you off, instead of responding in kind, you’ll just shake it off.
