Glimpses of Greater Worlds

Some Documentaries Are More Inspiring Than Others

If you are finding your current circumstances in time and space a bit confining, you will enjoy this collection of mind expanding DVDs. Immortality, connections with the stars, and visionary ancestors are all part of our legacy and we have the evidence to prove it.

Paul Perry

This documentary examines the question: What happens when we die? In this study of the Near-Death Experience (NDE), the conclusion is reached that there is no need to fear death—there is, indeed, an afterlife. This profound statement is backed up by evidence presented in this DVD by director Perry and researchers Jeffrey Long and Raymond Moody, which they believe supports this conclusion. Perry’s most recent work with Moody Glimpses of Eternity involves Shared Death Experiences which describes the reports of bystanders who experienced some of the key elements of the NDE that were happening to their departing loved one. This demonstrates that elements described in the NDE are not simply hallucinations induced in a dying brain, as asserted by skeptics and debunkers, but actual events during the death or near-death process. Dr. Moody himself had this experience. And Perry had his own near-death experience, so they know of what they speak.

Perry started his own production company in 2005 with the goal of making innovative films that matter. His first several films have been in the spiritual realm and have led to unique presentations of such subjects as near-death experiences, visions and miracles, and the years Jesus spent in Egypt. His work has appeared worldwide on television. He is the coauthor of four New York Times bestsellers, including Evidence of the Afterlife, Closer to the Light, Transformed by the Light, and Saved by the Light, which was made into a popular movie by Fox-TV. In 1986 his interest in the effects and meaning of near-death experiences led him to a professional involvement with Dr. Moody. They have written four books together: The Light Beyond, Coming Back, Reunions, and Glimpses of Eternity: Sharing a Loved One’s Passage from this Life to the Next.

Dr. Moody, a psychologist and medical doctor and known as the “father of near-death experiences,” is prominently featured in this documentary. He first coined the term NDE in his 1976 book, Life After Life. He has enlightened and entertained audiences all over the world for over three decades. He offers many different lecture/workshop presentations on the topics of: Near-Death Experiences, Death With Dignity, Life After Loss, Surviving Grief & Finding Hope, Reunions: Visionary Encounters With Departed Loved Ones, The Healing Power of Humor, The Loss of Children, The Logic of Nonsense, and Catastrophic Tragedies and Events Causing Collective Grief Response.

Dr. Jeffrey Long, a physician in Louisiana, is also featured in this documentry. (See A.R., #81, “The Case for Immortality”) He has served on the Board of Directors of IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies) and is actively involved in NDE research. In August of 1998, the nonprofit Near Death Experience Research Foundation and coinciding website ( was established by Dr. Long and his wife, Jody, to open up a forum for people from all over the world to share their personal experiences as well as to provide a controlled environment in which to collect scientific data on this phenomenon. The website generates more than 400,000 unique pageviews each month and has generated the largest-known database of individual NDE experiences. He is coauthor with Paul Perry of Evidence of the Afterlife, based on researching over 1300 NDEs shared with NDERF. Using this treasure trove of data, Dr. Long explains how medical evidence fails to explain these reports and why there is only one plausible explanation—that people have survived death and traveled to another dimension. He offers these nine lines of evidence:

Crystal-Clear Consciousness—The level of consciousness and alertness during NDEs is usually even greater than that experienced in everyday life even though NDEs generally occur when a person is unconscious or clinically dead. This high level of consciousness while physically unconscious is medically inexplicable. Additionally, the elements in NDEs generally follow the same consistent and logical order in all age groups and around the world, which refutes the possibility that NDEs have any relation to dreams or hallucinations.

Realistic Out-of-Body Experiences (OBEs)—OBEs are one of the most common elements of NDEs. What NDErs see and hear of earthly events in the out-of-body state is almost always realistic. When the NDEr or others later seek to verify what was observed or heard during the NDE, even if the OBE observations during the NDE included events far from the physical body and far from any possible sensory awareness of the NDEr, the OBE observations are almost always confirmed as completely accurate. This fact alone rules out the possibility that NDEs are related to any known brain functioning or sensory awareness. This also refutes the possibility that NDEs are unrealistic fragments of memory from the brain.

Heightened Senses—Not only are heightened senses reported by most who have experienced NDEs, normal or supernormal vision has occurred in those with significantly impaired vision, even legal blindness. Several people who have been totally blind since birth have reported highly visual NDEs. This is medically inexplicable.

Consciousness During Anesthesia—Many NDEs occur while under general anesthesia—at a time when any conscious experience should be impossible.

Additionally, the description of a NDE differs greatly from that of one who experiences “anesthetic awareness.” The content of NDEs that occur under general anesthesia is essentially indistinguishable from NDEs that did not occur under general anesthesia. This is further strong evidence that NDEs are occurring completely independently from the functioning of the physical brain.

Perfect Playback—Life reviews in NDEs include real events that previously took place in the lives of those having the experience, even if the events were forgotten or happened before they were old enough to remember.

Family Reunions—During a NDE, the people encountered are virtually always deceased and are usually relatives of the person having the experience—sometimes they are even relatives who died before the NDEr was born. Were the NDE only a product of memory fragments, they would almost certainly include far more living people, including those with whom they had more recently interacted.

Children’s Experiences—The NDEs of children, including very young children who are too young to have developed concepts of death, religion, or near-death experiences, are essentially identical to those of older children and adults. This refutes the possibility that the content of NDEs is produced by preexisting beliefs or cultural conditioning.

Worldwide Consistency—NDEs appear remarkably consistent around the world and across many different religions and cultures. NDEs from non-Western countries are incredibly similar to those that occur in people in Western countries.

Aftereffects—It is common for people to experience major life changes after having NDEs. These aftereffects are often powerful, lasting, life-enhancing, and the changes generally follow a consistent pattern. As the NDErs themselves almost always believe—NDEs are, in a word, real.

This knowledge is so compelling that it will either validate your existing knowledge or it will heartily challenge your current belief system.

BLACK WHOLE: We Are Connected to the Stars

Nassim Haramein (Crossing the Event Horizon)

This presentation uncovers scientific proof that we are one. The work of physicist, Nassim Haramein, provides insight into the structure of space-time and a new coherent model of the universe. Using the sacred geometry and codes in ancient monuments and documents, the film presents a new look at the reality in which we live.

For those who haven’t read our review of Nassim’s Crossing the Event Horizon and not familiar with him (and you should be because his new science might just be the thing that turns modern physics on its head), I’ll repeat here: As early as nine years old, Nassim was already developing the basis for a unified hyperdimensional theory of matter and energy. That was the start of 20 years of seeking knowledge about the structure of space and time and the nature of reality, which has resulted in a unification theory with implications in theoretical physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, chemistry, archaeology, and anthropology as well as philosophy and technology.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1962 to a Persian father and an Italian mother, he now lives in Hawaii. Always the independent thinker, he was kicked out of a science conference years ago for saying that we would find giant black holes at the centers of galaxies including our own. That prediction has come true, so now when he speaks of ‘black-white’ holes, maybe we should listen!

Even Dr. Stephen Hawking, who for nearly thirty years insisted that black holes could not radiate information, has announced a complete 180-degree turn in his views predicting that black holes may be able to radiate information.

Part lecture, part sci-fi movie, this presentation will keep you on the edge of your seat as Nassim connects every thing up with everything else—science, religion, astronomy, pyramids, Ancient Egypt, and more: Haramein says that our own living cells are the point where the micro and macro spin and sees empowering implications in such data. “The body’s complexity is outrageous!” he states. “The biological resolution is the link between the large and the small—YOU are the event horizon. Instead of seeing yourself as an insignificant little dot that means nothing to the universe, begin to see yourself as the center…everyone else is the center of their universe as well…and we are all one.” Starting with the absolute basics, he takes the viewer on a journey into the deepest reaches of space and to the smallest divisions of space.

Combining his knowledge with a keen observation of the behavior of nature, he discovered a specific geometric array that he found to be fundamental to creation, and the foundation for his Unified Field Theory emerged.

This unification theory, known as the Haramein-Rauscher metric (a new solution to Einstein’s Field Equations that incorporates torque and Coriolis effects), and his most recent paper, “The Schwarzschild Proton,” lays down the foundation of what could be a fundamental change in our current understandings of physics and consciousness. This ground-breaking theory has now been delivered to the scientific community through peer-reviewed papers and presentations at international physics conferences. Further, “The Schwarzschild Proton” paper has recently received the prestigious “Best Paper Award” in the field of physics, quantum mechanics, relativity, field theory, and gravitation at the University of Liège, Belgium, during the 9th International Conference CASYS’09.

This one will challenge your perceptions and will be worth a second (or more!) viewing. Nassim is quite entertaining as he clearly reveals his facts, enabling the layman to understand each concept. The Bonus Segment includes the Haramein Equations.

History Channel

This documentary poses some interesting questions and provides some fascinating answers backed by strong evidence. Has the Holy Grail been in America all along? “In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue,” so goes the ditty that was supposed to help us remember when Columbus discovered America—but—were the Knights Templar here in 1392? The answer is—yes—according to this History Channel documentary which provides strong evidence that the Templar fleet left Europe and sailed to America, making their way on a 14-day journey from the East Coast through the Great Lakes to what is now Kensington, Minnesota. Columbus’s father was a Templar who may have told him of the existence of the New World, still a secret in the fifteenth century and known only to the Knights Templar.

In 1898, a Minnesota farmer clearing trees from his field uprooted a large stone covered with mysterious runes that tell a story of land acquisition and murder. The stone, which has come to be known as the Kensington Runestone, allegedly dates back to 1362. Initially thought to be a hoax, new evidence suggests the find could be real and a clue that the Knights Templar discovered America 100 years before Columbus, perhaps bringing with them history’s greatest treasure—the Holy Grail. You can follow the clues as experts use erosion studies on the rune stone and match symbols in Templar ruins all over Europe to support this theory. Stones with similar markings have been found on islands across the Atlantic Ocean, in Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

Using cutting-edge research techniques, geologist Scott F. Wolter believes that he has the proof needed to declare the genuine nature of the Kensington Runestone, and he published his discoveries in the book entitled The Hooked X. If his findings are correct, it could change the way that everyone views history, and perhaps even the world around us. The new translation of the inscription tells an even stranger story than what people had originally thought. It is Wolter’s contention that the Kensington Runestone is actually a land claim planted by a group comprised of both Scandinavian explorers and Templar knights, but there is more to the story than that. Through further investigation and some serious speculation on the part of Mr. Wolter and his supporters, the mystery leads to a whole set of bizarre clues; and they suggest that these clues lead to the location of the lost treasure of the Knights Templar.

Several different translations of the Kensington Stone have been attempted; but they seem to indicate that in 1362, a group of Scandinavians came to North America from Vinland (Greenland) to find many of their friends dead in modern day Nova Scotia and that they continued inland, claiming much of the Midwestern USA for themselves. In 1960, Viking settlements were authenticated in Newfoundland, which proved that the Vikings actually came to North America in about AD 1000, long before Columbus. We also know that the Templars were both clerics and soldiers. They were dedicated to holiness but knew how to ride horses and use weapons to safeguard Christian pilgrims against Muslims and bandits throughout the Mediterranean. They became very rich and powerful, possibly through using knowledge obtained from the Near East.

Did the Templars bring their treasure to the New World to hide it from the Catholic Church?? As with many conspiracy theories, it sounds too incredible to be true, but the evidence cannot be easily dismissed.

This informative and thought-provoking presentation will be a welcomed addition to the DVD library of those who are interested in the Knights Templar; and even for those who have only a passing interest, it can be viewed as a good mystery movie with entertaining twists and turns—an excellent production with many different video sources and styles, indoor and outdoor. Reenactments and new interviews are woven together smoothly. It is well-narrated, with good sound effects and music, all mixed very well.
